The Banksia Financial Group (Banksia) is a wholly Australian owned and operated business providing extensive services including offering investments to the public, mortgage fund management and mortgage origination.
Banksia commenced operations in 1999 following the amalgamation of a number of long established and successful Victorian based debenture companies and contributory mortgage funds, some of which have been operating since the early 1900’s.
On 19 March 2009, The Boards of Directors of The Banksia Financial Group and Statewide Secured Investments Ltd announced they had reached an agreement to amalgamate operations effective from Monday 30 March 2009. The amalgamated entity will continue to trade under The Banksia Financial Group banner and substantially adds to the scale of the business as well as providing customers with the added comfort that they are dealing with a larger and stronger company with funds under management approaching $840 million as well as an increased branch network and staff complement.
Banksia principally operates through Banksia Mortgages Limited (BML) and Banksia Securities Limited (BSL). BML Is the licensed responsible entity for the Banksia Mortgage Fund and mortgage administration manager for the group, while BSL is a licensed debenture issuing company with the purpose of raising funds for mortgage lending.
Banksia is a substantial commercial lender and specialises in fixed and variable interest mortgage management with a particular focus on commercial, industrial and rural lending up to $10 million. Our commitment is to provide customers with fast, personalized service and attractive products.
The quality of loan administration is an important issue and something that many borrowers may overlook when selecting a provider. In June 2003, Banksia Mortgages Limited became the first commercial loan servicer in Australia to be assigned a servicer ranking by international ratings agency Standard & Poor’s and included on their Global Select Servicer List following an extensive evaluation. The ranking opinion assigned was upgraded from Average to Above Average in November 2004 and this ranking was confirmed at a subsequent review. Competitive fixed and variable rate investment products are also offered to the public in first mortgage investments via the Banksia Mortgage Fund (BMF) and through first ranking debenture investments with BSL. Applications must be made on a current application form and after considering the relevant disclosure document for the product.
